That’s the grey line—the subtle but undeniable bias that separates who gets seen, who gets heard, and who gets left behind. It’s rarely explicit, but it’s real—and it shapes careers in ways we don’t always acknowledge.
The Greyline Collective is a nonprofit initiative created to confront ageism in the design industry. It was born from firsthand experience—where PTO requests triggered terminations, promotions were dangled then withdrawn, and careers were quietly rewritten to fit a curated narrative.
These aren’t isolated missteps. They’re systemic patterns—and they thrive in silence.
Our goal is to break that silence. To gather real stories from real professionals. To challenge the industry’s obsession with youth and image over substance and experience. And to support one another with knowledge, strategy, and solidarity.
